Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009

Michael Jackson hit big time (in my world, at least)in 1982 when I was 15 years old and I had a massive crush on him. His "Thriller" album was one of the first records I ever bought. (I still have it on vinyl - those of you born in the "Saved by the Bell" era might have to Google that word if you don't know what that means!) I loved "Thriller" so much that I then purchased it on cassette (to roll with the times) and then again on CD and have since purchase multiple videos on iTunes. Though I admit he became...eccentric (to put it nicely) later in his life, he was still a iconic brilliant singer & dancer and he changed the face of pop music.

I am of the group of people who don't believe the sexual abuse allegations he was plagued with in in his life. (For those of you who disagree, the 1993 case was closed for lack of evidence (and he only settled so that he wasn't dealing with the case for years as was threatened) and he was tried and acquitted in 2005!) We all have our own beliefs and are entitled to our own opinions. It's just mine are right and yours are wrong! (tee hee hee)

I know he will in death, become even more revered than he was in life. Just go to iTunes and see that the top selling songs, albums and videos are all of his. Rest in Peace, Michael.

Mr. Pattinson in New York

Rob Pattinson is in NY filming "Remember Me" and getting mauled by hormone surging ladies along the street. I was relieved, after hearing him on numerous occassions mention that he's terrified of getting stabbed in a crowd, that he's got a security detail.

However, looking at these photos, I'm thinking these dudes aren't ever gonna be assigned to protect the president any time soon. How did 3 chicks manage to out muscle all these men? Though he might have been screaming inside, Rob did manage to maintain his adorable smile through the ordeal.

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY COLBY!

My little guy just celebrated his 7th birthday today. We celebrated with a grilled hot dog and a brand new non-edible plush toy that he preceded to eat. Actually, it was a typical day with him devouring anything that's the slightest bit chewable. It's a compulsion of his, but the steroids he's on for a terrible skin allergy doesn't help him control his bad behavior.

Since April he's suffered from 4 seizures (that we humans have witnesses, no idea if he had any when he was alone.) So he's now begun taking an anti-seizure med called Phenobarb and we hope this stops them completely without any effect on his liver. But as Mom, there's nothing more terrifying to see than your baby sick and not knowing how to help them. I'm thinking "no more dogs for me" after what I've been through with this one. And I'll tell you something else...he's totally worth all the anxiety and expense. Wouldn't trade him for nothin'!

ADAM LAMBERT IS OUT!!!!

OK, my question is, when was he in? Don't you have to be "in" to come "out"? I think it was pretty obvious way back during Hollywood week when Adam sang Cher's "Believe", which side his bread was buttered on. Hello People!!!! Let's think, where there any other clues?? Um... there is his resume of being a "Broadway" actor. Umm..., that's right, he wore a whole lot of guyliner and nail polish. Of course some might suggest that the multiple pictures of "Glambert" in drag posted on the Internet tongue kissing other dudes was a huge clue as well and then throw in he lives in Hollyweird. I think you didn't have to be a member of Mensa to figure it he is a card carrying member of the Barbra Streisand Fan Club!

All the hype about "is he or isn't he" didn't distract from the fact that Adam is a brilliant performer & singer. He didn't lose Idol because he's gay. (I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist, but I think the whole AT&T texting thing was "fishy", as well as the story about there are websites and something called "bluetooth" that helped people speed call. I've also heard that some people, through these gadgets and such, were able to vote 7 hours and not 4 like the rest of us. I'm just saying it's all fishy. I think Idol should limit the amount of calls per phone per household. It's the ONLY fair way. In the mean time, I'm not sure I'll ever vote again.) But I digress. Yes Adam should have won American Idol, but he's better of not having. But getting back to the topic at hand, who the hell cares if he's gay??????? He's still fucking adorable and the best singer EVER to be on the show in it's 8 years! He kisses boys. So what! My only objection is to the fact that he claims he has a crush on Kris Allen. It'd make sense to me if he wanted to kiss Rob Pattinson. On that I could relate!!!!

Gene Simmons said this about Adam on Fox News. "He'd be great on Broadway. He's a great belter and all that stuff. But unfortunately, he's let the other story take center stage...his sexual preferences. That's going to be a career killer. I think it's going to be over before it's begun and it's unfortunate because the kid's got the pipes. There's no questions."

Gene also said:

"He should really shut up. No one cares what you do behind closed doors anyway. And if you're putting that front and center, you're forcing us to deal with it and it's going to be a turnoff for the masses."

Adam didn't LET any story take center stage. Adam has never spoken of his sexual preference until he did the Rolling Stones interview (on new stands now!). He was constantly asked in interviews and he always deferred on the topic. It was the news media and the blogs that started and kept the story going. Also, I've a message to Mr. Simmons. As one of the masses, I'm not turned off by Adam's admission that he's gay. I can't wait to buy his CD in the fall and would love to see him in concert. KISS on the other hand is old news and maybe you should consider retiring your tongue and nasty-ass ponytail. I'm sure you are jealous of Adam's youth and talent, and it's got to be hard for you becoming irrelevant as the years pass, but you shouldn't take that out on Adam.
